For todays blog I wanted to take a second to discuss something I read on another blog. It discussed the notion of advertisers "Pre-Gamming" for the Super Bowl. This includes launching partial campaigns prior to Game Day as well as leaking commercials online to get some interest and extra anticipation ahead of time. By "Pre-Gamming" advertisers get the excitement about their commercial (and product) out early allowing the excitement of their ad to match the excitement of the upcoming game to last until actual game day. By waiting until the the game itself companies limit the length of wow time they can potentially recieve to the game itself and the few days afterword. The following video by CNN contains a selection of leaked Super Bowl Ads. I am super excited to see one ad in particular: Victoria Secret. It is refreshing to see a Victoria Secret ad that doesn't appear to be covered in half naked women. I feel it is a good change that really distinguishes this ad from their usual branding and places them in line with the other brands known for Super Bowl commercials.
